We are talking about interceding for others so that they would remove the lock of the jail cell full of burdens that they put others in.

Isaiah 58:9b-10  "If you remove the yoke from your midst, The pointing of the finger and speaking wickedness, And if you give yourself to the hungry And satisfy the desire of the afflicted,”

IF you remove the burdens you put on one another. When do you put burdens on other people? A burden is a heavy weight that is carried unnecessarily. There are many examples. They sin against you and you lock them up in prison. Prison is isolation of some kind. They can’t get out unless you open the door with forgiveness. Maybe it’s just for a little while, when you are angry. You burden others with expectations and rules. There are lots of rules you call boundaries. These rules can become heavy burdens that are unnecessary.

IF you remove the pointing of blame on one another. You focus more on the guilt and less on the solution. Grumpy people put their focus on just finding who is at fault. Even when the guilty party already knows they are guilty, you point the finger of blame at them. It is a type of prison you put them in. What happens after guilt, should be the pursuit of recovery.

IF you remove the speaking wickedness against one another. This is harsher than finger pointing. If you speak wickedly against someone you clearly are not friends. You might be enemies. It hints at maybe even hating someone. Jesus says to love those who hate you. Do good to those who persecute you.

IF you give yourselves to the hungry. The bread that God gives is the bread that removes hunger forever. The goal of God is to set others free from spiritual hunger. Focus on those who need to be set free from spiritual hunger. What about physical hunger? Yes, give food to the hungry too.

IF you satisfy the desire of the afflicted. The afflicted want to be free from their burdens. God wants you to participate in satisfying their desire to be free from their burdens.

Prayer coaching: “Jesus, Help (me) remove the burdens I have put on others. Help (me) to not focus on pointing out others faults, but focus on their recovery. Jesus help (me) to love my enemies and those who hate me without speaking evil against them. Help (me) focus on encouraging those who are spiritually hungry. Show (me) how to satisfy the desire of others to be free from their burdens.”
