We are talking about why we follow Jesus’ voice as our Good Shepherd.

John 10:11-13 "I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep. He who is a hired hand, and not a shepherd, who is not the owner of the sheep, sees the wolf coming, and leaves the sheep and flees, and the wolf snatches them and scatters them. He flees because he is a hired hand and is not concerned about the sheep.”
Your most important relationship is with the good Shepherd. Jesus deserves first place in your life. You give Jesus first place in your life because He laid down His life for you. He has proved that He is good. Only God is truly good.
The paid worker will leave you and not be willing to die defending you. Jesus fought for you and died for you. He has conquered your true enemies. Does the baby sitter love the children more than the parents? No. She is just the hired worker. Mothers and fathers love their children. But no one loves their children more than Jesus.
Prayer coaching: “Jesus, be first in my life. You are the most important person in my life. Help me not put my trust or hope in those who don’t really love me and are not willing to die defending me. May I be like you Jesus. Make me someone who truly loves like You do and is willing to die defending others.”

John 10:14-15 "I am the good shepherd, and I know My own and My own know Me, even as the Father knows Me and I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep.”
You know Jesus personally. Jesus declares that you know Him and He knows you. That’s a bold declaration that He has to defend. Back that up Jesus! Prove it. Jesus does prove it, by living inside you and talking to you.
Jesus lives inside God the Father and knows Him personally. Only Jesus and the Holy Spirit live inside God the Father and know Him from the inside. They are One. Wherever God the Father is, Jesus is there also. Jesus is able to live in you and know you personally because He is God. And in agreement with God the Father Jesus willfully laid His life down for us. This is why Jesus is the Good Shepherd.
Prayer coaching: “Jesus, you declared that we know each other. Prove it to me. Keep Your word and let me get close to You and hear you clearly. Live inside me and speak to me every day. I admit that You are God. I acknowledge that You live inside God the Father, and He lives inside You. You are One.”
