Isaiah 29:14-16 “Therefore behold, I will once again deal marvelously with this people, wondrously marvelous; And the wisdom of their wise men will perish, And the discernment of their discerning men will be concealed. Woe to those who deeply hide their plans from the LORD, And whose deeds are done in a dark place, And they say, ‘Who sees us?’ or ‘Who knows us?’ You turn things around! Shall the potter be considered as equal with the clay, That what is made would say to its maker, ‘He did not make me’; Or what is formed say to him who formed it, ‘He has no understanding?’ "

The Lord God declares: I will be wondrously marvelous with you. Jesus will remove the false wisdom given to you from wise leaders who are distant from Jesus inside their minds. They will not understand dreams, or visions, or the true meaning of the scriptures. Instead, they will lean on other peoples writings and interpretations and guess at the true meaning of what the scriptures mean. Jesus will be wondrously marvelous with you! He will hide the false teachings from you that come from discerning leaders who have blinded themselves in their own minds. You shouldn’t wonder why God cuts off wise discerning leaders who continue to mislead people. People are praying that God cuts off their misleading words, and He will answer.

A warning to those who hide their plans from God. Be warned if you hide your plans from God, or act out in a dark place, or deceive yourself to think that no on sees or knows what you are doing in the dark. You will stumble in the dark. Be warned if you have twisted things around. If you have made your own version of truth, you will blind yourself with it. Be warned if you act like you are equal with God. You won’t say it, but your actions say it for you. You compete with God to be in charge of your own life. You’re the master of your own life and that’s why you are failing. Be warned if you tell God that He didn’t make you. You can justify acting on instinct if God didn’t make you. You can lower your identity and justify your flaws. You can say you don’t deserve to be close to God. Be warned if you say to God that He doesn’t understand. If you say to yourself that God is not aware of all things and He is not paying attention, you will convince yourself that you can remain in the dark.

This is what your life should be. All these things that keep you in the dark also hinder you from including Jesus in every decision you make each day. Include Jesus. Ask Jesus what to wear, what to eat, and what to do, especially when no one is looking.

Prayer coaching: “Jesus, be wondrously marvelous with me and my people. Remove the false wisdom being taught to me by wise leaders who are distant from you in their hearts and minds. Give me wisdom that only comes from You. Cover me and my people from the false understanding of discerning leaders who are far from you. Give me understanding that only comes from You. Help me follow only You.

Jesus, why can’t I see and understand You? It’s because I hide my plans from You, isn’t it. Every day and all day long I make decisions without You. I do things that are done in a dark place. I tell myself that no one can see me. I tell myself that no one knows me. Awaken my heart to look at the truth that even in my dark places You see me and know me. God confront me. Don’t stop. Continue to warn me. Bring me out of the dark places so I can see and understand You.

Jesus, turn me around! I am the master of my life and act like You aren’t my master. I make my own decisions all day long and don’t consider You except maybe to bless a meal and bless my sleep. It’s as if I tell You I understand better than You. It’s as if I say that You don’t understand. Turn me around. Help me submit to You and include You in my daily decisions.”
