Introduction: Who is Jesus and what is His true identity when He declares He has the name of God. Today we are talking about how Jesus’ true identity is connected to the Name He uses.

John 5:43 "I have come in My Father's name, and you do not receive Me; if another comes in his own name, you will receive him.”
Jesus has come in God the Father’s name. Jesus has come into the universe with a name that represents His identity. The problem is that He comes representing God the Father and His identity. Who Jesus is and what He does is an exact representation of God the Father and His name and identity. God is standing in front of you and it’s hard to understand it.
They didn’t receive Him with the name of God. How can Jesus be here on earth with the name of God the Father? This is what the entire book talks about from Genesis to the very end. God is coming in physical form to overcome evil for us. It even has been prophesied that when God comes into the world in physical form, His earthly name is Jesus.
Paul says in Hebrews 1:3, “(Jesus) is the radiance of (God’s) glory and the exact representation of (God’s) nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.”
If anyone comes in their own name you receive them. You accept everyone who enters your life for who they are. You accept their identity. Every thing you do represents your own name and identity. It’s your reputation that is affected by your words and actions. Jesus says everything that He says and does represents God’s name and identity. Everything that Jesus does represents the reputation of God.
Prayer coaching: “Jesus, help me understand that You have the name and identity of God, and Your name and identity represents God the Father exactly. You and God the Father together have come into the universe You created to love us and give us eternal life with You.”
