John 5:44 “How can you believe, when you receive glory from one another and you do not seek the glory that is from the one and only God?”

Are you satisfied with glory from one another? Glory means something like this: To honor, praise, give distinction, to adore, to love. You are praised by others. You are raised up as unique among others. You are seen as someone who deserves to be noticed. You are loved by others. You are adored by others. Is this the identity you seek, to be

God wants to give glory to you. Jesus’ true identity is confirmed again as He declares His purpose for each person. This is the desire of God and Jesus, that you seek to be honored by God, to be praised by God, to be raised up as unique by God, to be noticed by God, to be loved by God, and to be adored by God. Jesus is not in this for Himself. He loves you and is in this for you.

How can you believe Jesus? Well, are you satisfied with the glory from one another? Why seek love from God if you are adored by each other. The glory you receive from each other is temporary. Everything God does for you can last forever. The glory you receive from each other is meaningless compared to the glory that God wants to give you. The glory from each other will keep you a slave to your own desires. The glory given to you from God will change you into a new person who is free from slavery to selfish desire.
