Isaiah 58:13 "If because of the sabbath, you turn your foot from doing your own pleasure on My holy day, And call the sabbath a delight, the holy day of the LORD honorable, And honor it, desisting from your own ways, From seeking your own pleasure And speaking your own word,”

There is a reward for this type of fast. The reward is given if on your day of rest you fast from doing your own thing, and ask Jesus what He would like to do with you. If you just do what you want to do on your day of rest then the reward from Jesus is missed. The reward is given if you call sabbath a delight. The day of rest is a delight if Jesus is participating in it with you. The reward is given if you call sabbath honorable and honor it. You honor the rest by actually seeking to do something with Jesus. “I don’t work today. Jesus what would you like us to do today?” The reward is given if you stop speaking just your own words. The day of rest should be a day where you listen to what Jesus has to say. It’s a day to talk about what Jesus would like to talk about.
