John 7:37 “Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink.”

If your life is without water and dry, go to Jesus and drink freely. Jesus has invited the entire world to come to Him for water if they so choose. During the feast of Booths all the men of Israel were required to go the temple in Jerusalem. On the last day of the feast, Jesus shouted loudly in the temple courtyard for all to hear! The first requirement to receive the water is just go to Jesus. It didn’t matter who they were or what they had done in the past. Also, His offer wasn’t just for those who heard Him shout. His offer wasn’t just for that day. Jesus didn’t give a limit to how much water you could drink. Drink as much as you’d like. Why hold back? Why drink just a little?

Prayer coaching: “Jesus, thank you for giving permission for me to come to You for water. Thank you for making the water available every day. I don’t want to be thirsty and dry in my life. Forgive me for the days I didn’t come to You when I was thirsty. I want to come to you every day for water. Help me drink Your water often.”

John 7:38 "He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, 'From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.'"

If you believe in Jesus, from deep inside you will flow a river of living water. The second requirement after going to Jesus for water is to believe in Him. Believe in what He says and does. He says that He is God and asks you to follow Him. If you believe in Jesus, a river of living water will flow. Life giving water will move in you.

Prayer coaching: “Jesus, I want from deep inside me a river of living water to flow. I want life giving water to move in me. Please give me this living water.”

John 7:39 “But this He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive; for the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.”

Who is this life giving water? John was the eye witness to what Jesus had just shouted, and he gives us the explanation of what the living water represents. It’s not actual water from a river, lake or well. It’s God the Holy Spirit who lives inside those who believe in Jesus. The Holy Spirit will not stay silent. He will move and take action and interact within your heart and mind and spirit. And because the Holy Spirit moves and flows every day, you will never be thirsty spiritually again. Your relationship with God is secure from the inside of you. The Holy Spirit is always there to interact with you, and move inside like a spiritual river. You don’t always feel that He is there, but the evidence is there that He is moving inside you.

Prayer coaching: “Jesus, thank you for offering God the Holy Spirit to live inside me. I want to see and know that God the Holy Spirit is moving inside me every day. Make His presence evident in me daily.”
