We are talking about interceding for others and how they confront God and complain that He doesn’t notice their fasting and prayers.

Isaiah 58:3 "Why have we fasted and You do not see? Why have we humbled ourselves and You do not notice?' Behold, on the day of your fast you find your desire, And drive hard all your workers.”

Nothing changed. They humbled themselves. They fasted and prayed. They say God didn’t notice because nothing changed.

Why didn’t anything change? When they fast, they seek their own desire. They fast the way they want to fast. They pray the way they want to pray. Their own desires win out over what God wants for them. At the same time they fast they oppress others. They should fast and pray the way God tells them, and things will change.

Prayer coaching: “Jesus, Help (them) fast and pray the way You want (them) to fast and pray. Help (them) sacrifice their own desires and not pray and fast their own way. Forgive (them) if they have been a hypocrite and oppressed others at the same time they are trying to fast and pray.”
