We are talking about how to intercede for someone given a difficult assignment from God.

John 12:27-28a "Now My soul has become troubled; and what shall I say, 'Father, save Me from this hour'? But for this purpose I came to this hour. Father, glorify Your name.”

For those you defend, don’t pray that they be saved from the difficulty. To save the world isn’t easy, but it’s worth the suffering. Just like Jesus was given this difficult assignment, God the Father gives to His followers difficult assignments. God’s words will go out and accomplish what He wants, but it might include difficulty. Are they worthy of a difficult assignment? If God assigned it then that proves they are worthy. Do they have the inner strength? If God assigned it then we can assume somehow they have a chance to accomplish it. We pray they accomplish the difficult tasks assigned by God.

Pray they remain focused on the goal. The goal is to glorify God the Father. Suffering isn’t worth it if it’s for self glory. Jesus isn’t doing this for Himself. He’s doing it for God the Father to be glorified. As the followers of Jesus suffer to accomplish difficult assignments there might not be anyone who sees and gives praise to them for doing it. The support from God often times is unseen because it’s directly from the Holy Spirit who sustains them. Pray that they remain focused on the goal to raise up God the Father for the world to see.

Prayer coaching: “Jesus, protect (them) as (they) face Your difficult assignments. Sustain (them) in the assignment to glorify Your Name.”
