We are talking about how to intercede for someone trying to confirm a difficult assignment from God.

John 12:28b-30 "Then a voice came out of heaven: "I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again. So the crowd of people who stood by and heard it were saying that it had thundered; others were saying, "An angel has spoken to Him. Jesus answered and said, "This voice has not come for My sake, but for your sakes.”
For the people you defend, pray that with His voice God confirms what assignments He has for them. In Jesus’ assignment God the Father confirmed with His voice that glory had been given even before Jesus died on the cross. He also declared the assignment would succeed and give glory in the future. With His voice God the Father approved the assignment and the goal. For the followers of Jesus who are on assignment, God will directly confirm that the assignment and goal are from Him. For those you are defending in prayer, ask God to confirm their assignments through dreams, visions and thoughts put in their minds.
Pray they don’t trust public opinion. God’s voice wasn’t for Jesus, but it was for the people to hear. Why was the voice not for Jesus? Jesus already knew what God was going to say. Why was the voice for the people to hear? Don’t trust public opinion to confirm what God is doing. They guessed as to the origin of the thundering noise. Some couldn’t hear the words and thought it was just thunder. Some couldn’t recognize the voice from God and thought it was an angel. Both answers were wrong. None of them said it was the voice of God. The audience experienced what the disciples experienced but came up with a different answer. Their response to the voice became evidence that they were not able to see. Jesus didn’t put His trust in the advice or opinions of the people and neither should the followers of Jesus who are on assignment.
Pray that they evaluate for themselves the words God gives them. Pray God gives them clarity. They shouldn’t stand on the opinions from eye witnesses, because they can interpret and guess incorrectly. Pray they ask God for confirmation of their dreams, visions and the thoughts they hear from God.
Prayer coaching: “Jesus, confirm to (them) what assignments You are giving them. Protect (them) from false witnesses and deception. Jesus clarify the truth to (them) directly for (their) sakes.
