John 14:11-15 “Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me; otherwise believe because of the works themselves. Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father. Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it. If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.“

Because you believe in Jesus, you will do what He does. Don’t be troubled. There is important work Jesus has for you. Believe that Jesus is inside God the Father and God the Father is inside Jesus. Jesus is God. What are the possible lists of things you will do from Jesus’ list of work? Jesus will work through you to do good to those who hate you, to love your enemies, to lead people to a relationship with Jesus, to forgive those who hurt you, to heal the sick, to raise the dead, to multiply the food, to turn water into wine, to calm the sea, to walk on water, to teleport the boat to shore, to fast for 40 days, to give prophetic words, to teach, to encourage, and on and on. The more you see God answer your prayers in the work He gives you the less troubled you will be.

The word “great” for Jesus means servant. In Matthew 20:25-26 Jesus said that the great men of the world exercise authority over everyone, but whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant.

Because you believe in Jesus, you will do greater work. Don’t be troubled. The definition of great helps us to understand. We are talking about the great work of a servant. Jesus will work through you to do the great work of a servant more than He did while He was on the earth in physical form. After Jesus returned into heaven, those disciples served and shared about Jesus with many nations. They wrote about their experiences and the great miraculous work as servants.

What about you? You don’t know what the greater work as a servant will be for you. Don’t be afraid to pray for God to do the greater work of a servant through you. The more you see God answer your prayers for greater things to happen the less troubled you will be.

Ask in Jesus’ Name. We pray in Jesus’ Name because Jesus tells us He will answer. This goes deeper. Every time Jesus answers a prayer request that you prayed in His Name it is proof that Jesus is God and God the Father agrees with Jesus. If you pray in any other Name there is no guarantee that God will answer.

Jesus will do what you ask for. There are three conditions. First, you are to pray in Jesus’ Name. You are placing His Name on the request. If you ask for something that Jesus doesn’t want to put His name on, you might not receive an answer. You actually lower His Name by associating Him with evil. Second, Jesus clarifies that when He answers you, God the Father will receive glory in everything Jesus does. So if you ask for something that doesn’t glorify God the Father you might not receive what you asked for. Third, if you love Jesus you will obey His commands. If you pray for something that goes against His commands you might not receive an answer. In conclusion, if you obey Jesus and pray for what He instructs you to pray for, then you know He will answer.

Prayer coaching: “Jesus, may (I) not to be troubled, and believe that You are in God the Father, and God the Father is in You. May (I) do the works that You do and the greater work of a servant. May you answer (me) when I ask in Your Name for what You instruct me to pray for. Show (me) what to ask for. (I) pray that in all my prayers and actions God the Father may be glorified in You.
