Our Fortress inside
Matthew 11:28 "Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy burdened, and I will give you rest.”
Where can you find rest from your weariness and heavy burdens? Jesus declares to everyone, “Come to Me. I will give you rest.” There are no cases that are too difficult for Him.
Does Jesus have a 100% success rate? Yes.
Matthew 11:29 "Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS.”
What do you have to do to find rest for your soul? Jesus said, “Take My yoke upon you.” A yoke is used to direct horses. Let Jesus guide and direct you. Let Jesus lead you to rest for your soul.
Why should you let Jesus direct your life? It’s because Jesus said that with Him you will find rest for your soul, and He is gentle and humble in heart.
Matthew 11:30 "For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."
Is Jesus’ yoke a burden? It is a burden, but it is light and easy to carry. Jesus’ directions will not weary you. You will actually feel lighter when you obey Him.
John 14:15 "If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.”
What is the burden Jesus’ asks you to carry? Jesus says, “Love Me.” It’s that simple. And if you love Jesus you will willfully choose to obey Jesus out of your love for Him. As your love for Him grows the easier it gets to go where He directs you to go.
Prayer coaching: If you are still not sure about all this, talk with Jesus and ask Him to prove Himself to you directly.
Prayer: “Jesus, I’m not sure about this decision to love You and follow You. Prove Yourself to me directly.”
Talk with Jesus about your love for Him. If you don’t feel like you love Him, tell Him. If you want to love Jesus, ask Jesus to put a deep profound love in you, so that you know you love Him.
Prayer: “Jesus, put a deep profound love in me for You, so that I know that I love You.”
