We are talking about our choice of prayer fast, verses the prayer fast that God accepts and answers.

Isaiah 58:5 "Is it a fast like this which I choose, a day for a man to humble himself? Is it for bowing one's head like a reed And for spreading out sackcloth and ashes as a bed? Will you call this a fast, even an acceptable day to the LORD?”
Does the fast fit your schedule? A convenient fast is what fits your schedule. You have time on your lunch break. Is that an acceptable fast for God? Fast the way God tells you, and He will hear and answer you.
Are you to bow only when the wind blows? The wind of the church is pushing you to bow in a fast. The church is doing a fast program and everyone should get involved. The wind of life and life’s difficulties are pushing you to bow in a fast. You lost your job and now you’re fasting. Is that an acceptable fast for God? Fast the way God tells you, and He will hear and answer you.
Does wearing rags move God to answer? Your appearance is what people see. Ash on the forehead is seen. Is that an acceptable fast for God? Fast the way God tells you, and He will hear and answer you.
Prayer coaching: “Jesus, Help (me) to fast the way you choose. Help (me) to not fast only when it’s convenient for (me). Help (me) to not fast just because others around (me) are doing it. Help (me) to not change my outward condition just to be seen. Help (me) to fast the way you choose.”
