verse 13

John 14:13 “Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.”

If you choose to love and follow Jesus, God the Father wants you to talk directly with Him in Jesus’ Name. You are placing Jesus’ Name on the request as a declaration that you love and obey Jesus. Jesus clarifies that when He answers your prayer, God the Father will receive glory in everything Jesus does.

If you ask for something that Jesus doesn’t want to put His name on, or that disobeys Him, you most likely won’t receive an answer. If you ask for something that doesn’t glorify God the Father you might not receive an answer either.
