John 16:25 "These things I have spoken to you in figurative language;  an hour is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figurative language,  but will tell you plainly of the Father.”

A time in the near future was coming, when Jesus was no longer going to speak to them in a figurative language.

That night Jesus was taken by guards to be judged before Pilate.  The next day He was put on a cross and crucified and died.  When would Jesus have time to speak to them plainly about God the Father?

They pondered and wondered.  It would be resolved 3 days later after raising from the dead.  Jesus walked through the wall into the room where the disciples were, and talked to them plainly about God the Father.
