James 4:2  “You lust and do not have; so you commit murder.  You are envious and cannot obtain;  so you fight and quarrel.  You do not have because you do not ask.”

You hear a thought in your mind to lust after someone or something.  These thoughts come from another source, who is your real enemy.

Without challenging the source,  it’s easy to just accept the thoughts as your own.  If you decide it’s your own desire, then you open a door for additional thoughts to come at you.

The thoughts to fight or quarrel or even murder can go unchallenged.  Did you ask Jesus what to do?   Did you hear the Holy Spirit warning you in your mind?

If you cast off the warnings, and didn’t acknowledge Jesus at all, then you’re dangerously close to starting something that, in some cases could lead to jealousy and even to murder.
