A wife is not to submit to all the husbands in the church, just her own.

How do you serve your husband?

“As to the Lord” means that Paul includes submission to Jesus first as the condition to serving one another in marriage.

Jesus is the master of the marriage covenant, not your husband. Wives are to submit to their husbands with direction from Jesus.

The phrase “as to the Lord” is a required condition of submitting. You are not suppose to do whatever your husband says unconditionally.

Your husband is not your master, Jesus is.
