You are to love each other as equals.

Ephesians 5:33a. “Nevertheless, each individual among you also is to love his own wife even as himself…”

This is a statement of equality. You are to love each other as equals.

In first Corinthians 12:26 it says that if one suffers, you all suffer. If one is honored, you all rejoice.

You are to suffer together in marriage. If your spouse suffers, then you should suffer with them. You are not to avoid or ignore your spouse’s difficulties.

When honor is given to your spouse and there is a reason to rejoice and celebrate, you are to be joyful and celebrate with your spouse.
