As the husband you are to empty yourself and not hold on to the title of “head of the marriage”.

Ephesians 5:25. “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loves the church and gave Himself up for her,”

Jesus doesn’t love your wife romantically. He came to serve your wife, and die for her. This isn't about your romantic love.

Philippians 2:6 to 8 says that Jesus did not hold on to His titles when He emptied Himself and willfully died on the cross for your wife.

As the husband you are to empty yourself and not hold on to the title of “head of the marriage”.

You are to become a bond-servant who willfully chooses to die to yourself in order to serve your wife. Husbands who do this look like Jesus.
