Isaiah 58:1d "And declare to My people their transgression, And to the house of Jacob their sins.”
So, who is the prophet shouting at? God is confronting His people, the people who say they follow God. If God is who you serve as master of your life, then He has an expectation that you will obey Him.
This confrontation is not for those who follow false gods. They’re not asking Jesus for answers. They’re not fasting for their freedom, or the freedom of others.
Prayer coaching. “Jesus, confront all those who say they follow You. Show us our sins. Let the truth confront the lies in our lives, so that we may be effective in prayer and fasting.”
