Isaiah 58:3 "Why have we fasted and You do not see? Why have we humbled ourselves and You do not notice?' Behold, on the day of your fast you find your desire, And, drive hard all your workers.”
You went to Jesus for answers, and even humbled yourself. Why didn’t anything change? It’s because you pray and fast the way you think is best. If you follow your own way to pray, there is no guarantee you’ll see the answer you want.
Ask Jesus to show you how He wants you to pray and fast. If your own desires win out over what God wants for you, throughout each day you might make decisions that can negatively affect others.
Prayer coaching. “Jesus, show me how You want me to pray and fast. Help me not oppress others. Forgive me if I’ve been doing what I think is right without asking You.”
