John 5:13-14 But the man who was healed did not know who it was, for Jesus had slipped away while there was a crowd in that place. Afterward Jesus found him in the temple and said to him, “Behold, you have become well; do not sin anymore, so that nothing worse happens to you.”
When Jesus heals, He also forgives the person of their sins. Jesus didn’t confront directly the sins of the man’s past, but it does show in the text that Jesus warned him not to sin in the future.
Are you curious if Jesus actually broke their law that day? The religious authorities agreed that the law allowed circumcision on the sabbath.
Real circumcision is a heart change that leads to you obeying God. Jesus had set this man apart wholeheartedly for God, and that is what circumcision represents. So, in fact, Jesus knew that He didn’t break their law.
