John 5:37-38 "And the Father who sent Me, He has testified of Me. You have neither heard His voice at any time nor seen His form. You do not have His word abiding in you, for you do not believe Him whom He sent.”
The audience Jesus was talking to didn’t believe that God the Father sent Jesus. They didn’t have God the Father’s words about the Messiah in their hearts, because they didn’t believe Jesus. They couldn’t hear or see God the Father.
Remember what Jesus said in John chapter 14, that if you hear Jesus you have heard God the Father. If you see Jesus you also see God the Father.
